A breath taking area with all of the views and nature you could want. Great history surrounding the area and lots of informative displays to tell you about it. Tons of deer all over the place while we were there. Definitely worth the trip for hikes, camping or just to view the impressive vistas.
We did the echo canyon trail and really enjoyed all the crazy rock formations. We stopped for so many pics it took us 2 1/2 hours to do the loop. The park service employees in Chiricahua are doing a great job of maintaining trails and keeping the park looking great. We only had half a day here, but really liked it.
About 40 min south of Willcox, the park is an oasis of green and trees from the otherwise stark landscape. Incredible views on the drive to the peak and there could be snow. Get to the top early in case of fog rolling in.
Watch for all kinds of wildlife. Very nice visitor center and super clean bathrooms. No fee here but the campgrounds were full.
Beautiful scenery.
Recommend stopping by the visitor center. Got advice from the park rangers before heading out to the trails. So friendly and helpful!
Will definitely be back.
Visit before it becomes a national park! A pretty place that was on par with many national parks. A nice drive into the mountains reveals an overlook with many rock spires spread across the land. Be warned- there’s no gas or services anywhere near the park. Visit the old ranch house if you’d like.
Fabulous place with amazing history and awe-inspiring rock formations. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but we’ll worth it. And not crowded
Absolutely stunning Chiricahua National monument. The park has numerous campsites and hiking trails, but the star of the park is the weathered Rhyolite rock formations. The 8-mile road takes you through the mountains, with numerous pull-offs and relatively easy hiking trails. There is no fee to enter the park and there is a staffed visitors center. Worth visiting!
Small center but descriptive on the park and friendly staff. No snacks or beverages are sold there, but some cool souvenirs are sold.
Restrooms and fountain for filling bottles are available outside. Handicap ♿️ accessible
